International Airports -

Tbilisi (TBS) is 18km (11 miles) east of Tbilisi city centre. 
Taxis and buses run into town. Recently a new airport, 
of western standard, has been constructed alongside its 
Soviet-style predecessor. At present there are few facilities 
(no restaurants or public telephones) although there is a 
bar with waitress service and satellite television. Snacks, 
vodka and Georgian wine are served in kiosks outside the 
old airport building and there are plans to renovate the former 
complex. In winter there are frequent power failures to which 
the new building may be subject.
